Fulton Market District

The Fulton Market began around 1850 as a wholesale produce and meat packing outlet.

Once home to dozens of meat packing companies including the biggest names in the industry like: Armour, Swift and Morris.

Today the former warehouse district of Fulton Market is now home to loft style condominiums, corporate headquarters, upscale restaurants, and boutique hotels. There are also cafes serving house-roasted coffee and buzzing breweries and cocktail bars, some with live music.

There are still a few meat packing plants in the area. They like the area so much, they want to stay there.

It's an exciting neighborhood. If you have not been in the area in a while, you should check it out and see all the changes. You will be amazed.
