The Esdohr House in Chicago

The Esdohr House located in Jefferson Park is being restored.
The plans are to have pop up food stands for now, but eventually the city would like to have a permanent cafe at the site.
It's a cool little building. It was built in 1882, and it is great to see the building still standing. You can see it's currently decorated for the holidays.
According to historic records, the Esdohr House was simply referenced as the “Craft Shop.” Prior to being the “Craft Shop,” the structure served as Jefferson Park’s first library.
Before that, it was home to Henry Esdohr. Esdohr was a successful businessman. He also served as Postmaster, Town Clerk, and Treasurer for the School Board of Trustees.
In 2006, Jefferson Memorial Park and the Esdohr House were placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
